Bethan Burton, artist and nature journaler from Brisbane, Australia came up with the wonderful idea of having a special online event for nature journalers to link up across the world.

I was so thrilled when she reached out to me in the UK. to ask me what I thought, could it be done?  Well, of course, I said yes!

I’m so delighted to be helping Bethan to develop and support this project. It will be an amazing focus for our beloved nature journaling. We want to connect and inspire those who are already experienced, and encourage others to begin their own journals!

The main event is from June 1-7th, 2020 and will be a week of world-wide nature connection and inspiration. ⁣The aim is to celebrate and deepen our connection to nature. During Nature Journaling Week itself, there will be daily tips, inspiration and ideas for current journal keepers, lots to encourage new journalers to get started, and some extra special surprises too!

We’ll come together as a community to celebrate and document the beauty and diversity of the natural world that we all love, and promote, through our journals.

We’d love people all over the world to get involved and make this a truly international event!

INJW just started with Bethan reaching out to me in January. Now we have so many people on board offering help, writing blog posts and sharing their skills, knowledge, and experience with the nature journaling community. Bethan’s hope was for this event to grow and develop annually. Well, we’ve had such a brilliant response, it’s already far exceeded what we hoped for this first year.

At this difficult time for all of us, online communication is vital. This project will help us support and encourage each other in our international nature journal community, and wider.

Please do join us!
