Returning to Blog
Hi everyone,
After several months of hiatus, I’m returning to blogging here on my author site. I took some personal time off to spend the winter in North Carolina.
The winter here has been wonderful. It’s so mild compared to the Texas Panhandle’s bitter cold. I’ve taken a few day trips to the Croatan National Forest and am just resting while I observe nature in a new environment. While I’ve been here, I’ve been thinking about how and what I want to blog about.
For more than 30 years, I have been an avid journaler. Journaler? Is that a word? I’ve journaled to figure out what I was thinking about, to find the words that I could not express verbally. I’ve journaled to heal through illness. I’ve journaled through the homeschooling and homesteading years, and all the adventures my kids and I had. I’ve journaled happy times and sad times and through everything, my journal was always there.
A few years ago, I learned how to create journals and recipe books. I enjoyed creating these books and plan to continue with a focus on nature.
But, I also want to dip my toes into the creative nonfiction and memoir world with essays, short reads and flash nonfiction on topics such as nature journaling, herbs, cooking with nature, and the homeschooling and homesteading years. So, if you want to follow along, bookmark my site. And as I get organized, I’ll have an email signup form on here so you can have the posts sent to your email box.
I will use this blog to update you on new books as they are published, new essays, products and courses you may be interested in, further learning on different topics in nature (herbalism, nature journaling, etc.), books I’m reading and life with my dog, Oggie, once I get settled back into a routine. And of course, I’ll blog on journaling and how you can benefit from it in your own life.
You can check out my Amazon Author Central page and follow me there too.
For now, I’m going to enjoy my time in North Carolina, and hope to see the Pine Knolls Aquarium Shores soon. I’ll post a few pics of that trip and some North Carolina nature when I can.
Thanks for reading my blog and sharing these experiences with me. I hope you enjoy my posts and come back soon!
