Hi there !
Spring is here, I think. We have a few days of 80 degrees F mixed in with 50’s and 60s. The night temps are staying in the 30’s and 40’s so I don’t have to run the heater as much now. I’m so tired of regulating the heat to just barely keep warm so the bill won’t be so high. In a few months, the trick will be to do the same with the air conditioning.
Greebo scampers through the house and does a combination growl/purr/trill type sound thinking she’s too fast for the rest of us to catch her. But she’s easy, we just act like something is interesting around her food bowl on top of the dryer and she’s instantly there, curiosity getting the better of her.
This week I added more stationery and old letter paper ephemera to the Etsy shop. These are spring themed with birds and are really pretty. I’ve listed them below.
Spring Equinox is next week! How will you celebrate?
This week’s Newsletter Spirit Animal is the Deer. I remember when the kids and I went hiking with our goats in the pasture one spring morning. It was foggy and we could only see a few feet in front of us on parts of the trail. We walked up on a small herd of deer. We were all startled–us, the goats, and the deer. The deer stood stone still, ignoring us, but watching the goats. I think they couldn’t understand what the packs were the goats were carrying. We all stood there staring at each other for several minutes and then we decided to move slowly around them and go on down the trail. It was a beautiful moment to observe the deer in the fog.

Deer Symbolism and Meanings:
Deer are beautiful and graceful animals, and instill a sense of awe and wonder in us when we chance upon them in the wild.
The Celts associated the deer with the fairie realm, believing troops of fairies trailed behind the stag as he made a path through the forest.
Deer can sense the nutrition they need from the plants around them and know which ones are good for them. Deer also has an uncanny sense of where to find the herbs in the forest and both Native Americans and the Celts watched the deer closely to know where to find the best herb patches.
Deer Symbolism and Meanings:
- Peace
- Beauty
- Swiftness
- Grace
- Love
- Regrowth
- Abundance
- Watchfulness
- Spirituality
Deer can help you find your own inner treasures. Simply ask her to go with you on the trail in a meditation and see where she leads you into the depths of your soul and spiritual knowing. She will lead you to your own spiritual medicine when you need it.
